The leopard gecko is an ideal pet. It is small, only reaching about eight inches in
length, and is easy to care for. This lizard typically has many black spots on a yellow background. With selective captive breeding, many fancy color forms have
recently appeared, including high yellow, tangerine, patternless and even albinos. No two leopard geckos have exactly the same pattern.
These nocturnal lizards are native to the rocky steppes of Iran, India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, and require warm temperatures. They are primarily
insectivores, and thrive on a diet of crickets, mealworms and waxworms. The leopard gecko is extremely entertaining to watch, especially when stalking a
cricket. Their fascinating personalities have made them very popular with reptile enthusiasts.
