The well-known Gila Monster (Heloderma suspectum) is one of only two living venomous lizards. They are native to the Southwest desert regions of the US.
The reticulated Gila monster (H. s. suspectum) is strongly banded during embryonic development but develops the characteristically mottled pattern,
more or less dominated by black, as it matures. This beautiful reticulated Gila monster from BrandyDesigns can be a great conversation starter as it welcomes your guests to your home.
